CONTROL BURN SCHEDULED ALONG HIGHWAY 36 WEST – News release from CalFire
The Tehama Glenn Unit of the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) plans to burn 160 acres of annual grass Thursday June 3 and Friday June 4, 2021 along Highway 36 West from Cannon Rd. to the Dibble Creek Bridge. Burning will start at approximately 6:00 p.m. Thursday June 3, 2021 and will be end by 4:00 a.m. Friday June 4, 2021. The burn will continue at approximately 6:00 p.m. Friday June 4 and be completed by 4:00 a.m. Saturday June 5, 2021. The control burn will be conducted weather permitting. Highway 36 West will be under controlled traffic during burning operations. Emergency vehicles will be patrolling the area heavily, so please be aware of emergency vehicles along the highway. The purpose of the burn is fuel reduction along the highway to reduce roadside fires, while providing firefighters with live fire training.
